Meet Anne
Senator Anne Rabbitte was nominated to Seanad Éireann by Taoiseach Micheál Martin in February 2025.
Hailing from Portumna, Co. Galway, Anne entered politics in 2014 when she was elected to Galway County Council for Fianna Fáil. Two years later, in 2016, she was elected to Dáil Éireann and was then appointed to the Fianna Fáil front bench as Spokesperson for Children & Youth Affairs.
Re-elected to the 33rd Dáil in February 2020, Deputy Rabbitte was subsequently appointed Minister of State with Special Responsibility for Disabilities by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin in July 2020.
Before entering the political arena, Anne worked for a financial institution for 25 years and is a qualified financial adviser. For 3 years, Anne also ran a community childcare facility.
