Hello, my name is Diarmuid Smith and I come from outside of Bailieborough, County Cavan. I am currently in my third year at Trinity College Dublin studying Computer Science and Business, I am also Secretary of Trinity Fianna Fáil - Wolfe Tone Cumann.
I've been a member of Fianna Fáil since 2020 and actively involved in Ógra since I started college in 2021. From a young age I have always taken an interest in politics because to me it is the best medium through which to make a positive contribution to both local and national life on our island.
I am honoured to serve as Ulster Organiser and look forward to engaging with members across the province in promoting a vibrant youth wing. I hope that my time on the Central Officer Board will bring about more engagement from our units in the border counties and the north, especially given the strategic importance of the region in the future development of our island. I also hope to encourage relationships between units in Ulster and other provinces to ensure that Ógra Fianna Fáil continues to engage with young people on an all Ireland basis by organising events surrounding events in Ulster and trips to the various institutions in the north.
