Fianna Fáil Senator Ned O’Sullivan has taken the decision to complete his Seanad re-election campaign via phone.
The Kerry based Senator, who has travelled over 5,000km to date, said he will no longer call to County Councillors homes or meet them at gatherings in an effort to stem the spread of COVID-19.
He explained, “I’ve always enjoyed travelling around the country and meeting with Councillors. I find it the best way to keep your ear to the ground and in touch with the issues facing people.
“However, health comes first, Councillors and their families are as vulnerable as anyone else, and I’ve taken the decision to come off the road with immediate effect.
“I will complete my Seanad campaign by phone, I think this is the right thing to do,” he concluded.
