This is according to latest figures released by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to Deputy Lahart by way of parliamentary question.
In 2019 legal proceedings were issued against 8,300 motorists. Of those, 600 cases of drivers withholding payment of tolls and penalties were sent to the County Sherriff.
In 2007, TII, with the approval of Government, concluded an agreement with NTR (National Toll Roads) to terminate the West-Link toll bridge concession agreement and bring it back under full public ownership, along with the related costs and revenues. Details supplied to Deputy Lahart show the payments relating to the buy-out agreement commenced in 2008 and concluded in 2020.
