Fianna Fáil TD for Kerry Norma Foley has welcomed the designation of Technological University status for IT Tralee and Cork Institute of Technology. The new venture will be known as Munster Technological University.
Deputy Foley said, “I’m so pleased that we have finally gotten to this point and have been granted Technological University status for Tralee. This is a huge boost for the campus and the town as a whole and it secures the future of the college for years to come.
“I want to pay tribute to everyone who has worked so hard to bring this project to fruition – it’s a major achievement to secure a university in Kerry after so long.
“I believe this is the beginning of a new era of learning for the students, which will present new opportunities and open new doors to them. I also hope it will provide a boost to Tralee, and Kerry as a whole in terms of attracting new jobs and employment to the county”, she concluded.
