Meet Lynda
Lynda Prendergast is a dedicated and passionate Fianna Fáil candidate running in the upcoming General Election for Dublin Mid-West. A longtime resident of Citywest, she is committed to making a positive impact in the community, where she and her husband Eoin are raising their two teenagers.
Her journey as a community activist began like many others, through volunteering on different committees within the community. This grew into a leadership role as Chairperson of the Citywest Community Council. Lynda has spent years advocating for improved schools, better amenities, increased Garda presence, and more outdoor spaces.
Her commitment to community development goes beyond advocacy. Lynda is an active board member at St. Mary’s National School, a participant in the Tallaght/Citywest and Rathcoole/Saggart/Clondalkin Community Safety Forums, a member of the Tallaght Transport Committee, and a representative with the Tallaght Drugs & Alcohol Task Force. Her priorities focus on creating a reliable and safe transport system, expanding amenities, and building safer communities for all. These experiences have given her the insight to understand the real challenges our community faces and the skills needed to make effective changes.
Lynda has been actively advocating for Dublin Mid-West and recently was successful in securing two new community Gardaí for the Citywest & Fortunestown areas; strengthening local safety. She is determined to continue fighting for a balanced approach to development, ensuring that the area’s growth includes the right mix of residential homes, business opportunities, parks, and infrastructure.
