Lorraine Clifford-Lee Senator
Meet Lorraine
Lorraine Clifford-Lee is a member of Seanad Éireann since 2016 and is currently serving her second term. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and previously ran her own law practice.
Lorraine is a passionate supporter of equality for women and girls. Since being elected to public office in 2016, she has worked on many progressive pieces of legislation, most recently pioneering legislation to provide free period products and ending period poverty in Ireland. Lorraine is the Co-Chair of the All Party Oireachtas Interest Group on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and the founder and current Co-Chair of the Cross Party Oireachtas Group on Workplace Equality.
Currently Seanad spokesperson on Health, Lorraine previously served as spokesperson on both Justice and Equality, and Children’s Affairs. Lorraine was previously a general election candidate in Dublin-Fingal. Tá Gaeilge líofa ag Lorraine agus scríobhann sí as Gaeilge go rialta d’fhoilseacháin nuachta. Currently Lorraine is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Coiste na Gaeilge, na Gaeltachta agus Phobal Labhartha na Gaeilge. Lorraine is also a member of the British-Irish Assembly.
Lorraine and her husband live in Donabate in North County Dublin, where they raise their two young children, Kitty and Teddy. She is a member of her local GAA club and enjoys walking on the beautiful local beaches in her free time.
