Meet Edel
I am married and am the mother of five children. I have worked in the health and education sectors as a nurse, lecturer, Acting President and Head of School of Nursing at ATU St. Angelas and am a Doctor of Education. I have been a community and social activist for the past 20 years.
I have always had a passion for politics borne out of admiration of the political achievements of my Uncle Ray MacSharry and cousin Marc MacSharry TD. I was honoured to be recently elected as a councillor in the Sligo Drumcliffe LEA.
My promise is, if elected, to be a strong voice and relentless in my efforts to bring prosperity and a better quality of life to the people of this region.
