Meet Caroline
Caroline was co-opted onto Meath County Council in December 2023, succeeding her late cousin Cllr Damien O’Reilly. She was re-elected in June 2024 in the Ratoath LEA, representing the towns of Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin and Ratoath and the surrounding areas.
A qualified and accredited addiction counsellor and psychotherapist, Caroline has a wide work experience in the realms of mental health and addiction therapy. She has been involved in the justice and prison systems for over 20 years and also in therapeutic programme development. Educated in NUI Maynooth, Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands and the Institute of Integrated Counselling & Psychotherapy, Caroline holds a BA in Geography and Sociology, a HDipIT, a BA in Applied Addiction Studies and a BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Caroline’s priorities are housing, transport, community development and social infrastructure, education and healthcare. She lives in Kilcloon with her husband and daughter and is looking to be elected to Dáil Éireann for her home constituency in Meath East.
